We are writing you today to ask you for your support for one of our own firefighter’s within the Lower Merion Fire Department Montgomery County, PA. Local 2844 Member Mike McDermott’s son, Firefighter Brian McDermott has been a volunteer firefighter with the Bryn Mawr Fire Company since 2005. He graduated from Harriton High School and then went on to play football for West Chester University.
While enjoying some time away with friends Memorial Day Weekend 2013, Firefighter B. McDermott was struck by a vehicle. He was transported to Christina DE Trauma center and spent one week in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit and additional three weeks at the Hospital followed by two weeks in a rehab facility. He went through many surgeries and procedures but unfortunately due to complications with his left leg it was amputated below the knee. Firefighter B. McDermott is now doing much better and is in very good spirits and currently back home in Bryn Mawr with his family.
So with that said there will be a Beef & Beer Benefit at the Ardmore Music Hall, 23 East Lancaster Avenue, Ardmore PA 19003 (formally Brownies 23 East) on September 22, 2013 from 3pm to 6pm. This is to help Brian and the McDermott family with medical bills and other expenses. Tickets will be available at the door the day of the event. If you would like to make a donation or can offer a door prize it would greatly be appreciated.
